1. Choose the destination first
Select Personal for 1584 × 396 or Company page for 1512 × 256. Do this before placing text because the two ratios need different compositions.
2. Build the background
Start with a monogram, multi-stop gradient, uploaded image, or self-contained HTML/CSS background. For uploaded images, position and scale the background before adding foreground objects so later changes do not force you to rebuild the entire layout.
3. Add only the information the cover needs
A banner is not an About section. A strong first draft usually contains one primary statement plus one secondary identity cue. Add text and image objects independently so they can be moved, resized, rotated, duplicated or removed without flattening the whole design.
4. Use guides, then inspect the preview
Keep guides on while arranging critical objects. Then compare desktop and mobile simulations. Look for collisions, false centering, overly small copy and information that relies on the edge of the canvas.
5. Save the editable source before exporting
Save project downloads a JSON representation of your composition. That file can be imported later, which matters when the banner is tied to something temporary: a launch, role change, event, hiring campaign or dated call to action.
6. Export PNG at production dimensions
Use Download PNG when the preview is stable. Bannerator exports at the active preset size, so there is no separate resize step after design.
